DAY
01 (Sat)
Arrival
in Fortaleza at different times and hotel check-in at
pleasant hotels in well placed areas (we suggest the
airport/hotel transfer be made by cab). The evening
is free to enjoy on walks along the Beira-Mar boardwalk
(we also suggest going to Centro Dragão do Mar
for a visit)
DAY
02 (Sun) We leave Fortaleza at 8 AM on the way to
Canoa Quebrada through the beach in big 4x4 Jeeps. The
trip will be entirely done off-road through the beach,
as we visit the beaches of Porto das Dunas, Prainha,
Presídio, Iguape, Barro Preto, Balbino, Caponga,
Águas Belas, Barra Velha, Barra Nova, Morro Branco,
and Praia das Fontes.
We continue through the beaches of Diogo, Uruau, Barra
da Sucatinga, Piquiri, Areos, Prainha do Campo Verde,
Paraíso, Parajuru.
After passing Aracati, we arrive in Canoa Quebrada where
we'll stay overnight at a special lodge with breakfast
included. Free evening to visit the main street (Broadway)
DAY
03 (Mon)
We leave at 9 AM towards Redonda beach passing through
the beaches of Majorlândia, Quixaba, Lagoa do
Mato, Retirinho and Ponta Grossa (absolutely fantastic
- colorful rocks, sea and dunes).
*Optional: Lunch at Redonda beach - it's lobster land.
Return to Fortaleza via the highway. Overnight stay
at a hotel in a pleasant area. The evening is free to
enjoy yourselves (we suggest going for a night of "forró"
music at the famous Pirata club).
DAY
04 (Tue)
We leave at 8 AM on the way to Jericoacoara through
the beach. The trip will be entirely done off-road through
the beach, as we visit the beaches of Barra do Ceará,
Iparana, Pacheco, Icaraí, Tabuba, Cumbuco, Cauipi,
Pecem, Taiba, Paracuru, Lagoinha, Guajiru, Flexeira.
Continuing the sea coast and visiting Baleia, Sabiaguaba
and Caetano, we will take a side road to Itarema, then
a paved road to Cruz, followed by another side road
to Lagoa dos Espinhos and visiting the beaches of Barrinha
with its beautiful dunes and the beaches of Formosa
and Preá. The estimated time for arrival is 6
PM. Overnight stay at a typical local lodge. The evening
is free for you to visit the bars and restaurants in
Jericoacoara (a.k.a. Jeri).
DAY
05 (Wed)
We leave at 9 AM for a ride in our big Jeeps to the
famous lagoons of Jericoacoara where we will spend the
entire day.
The evening is free for you to visit the bars and restaurants
in Jeri.
DAY
06 (Thu)
We leave at 9 AM for a stroll to Pedra Furada (Holed
Rock) on foot and later to Tatajuba beach in our big
Jeeps.
The evening is free for you to visit the bars and restaurants
in Jeri.
DAY
07 (Fri)
The morning is free for rides and shopping in Jeri.
Return to Fortaleza in the afternoon via the highway
(approx. 4.5 hours travel time). Arrival and check-in
at an especially pleasant hotel.
Evening is free. (we suggest watching a comedy show).
DAY
08 (Sat)
Free day for rides and shopping. (we suggest going to
Monsenhor Tabosa Ave. and Mercadão - where they
sell typical local crafts).
We suggest that hotel/airport transfers be made by cabs
(it's more comfortable).
Departure and checking-out at different times.
Observations
- Round trip airfare to Fortaleza is not included.
- Not included evenings out and free days.
- Meals and extra expenditures during the trips and
rides are not included. Overnight stay at hotels and
lodges are not included either.
